Privacy Policy

LinksGroups Engine ("we", "us", "my", "I") built the Birthday Reminder & Age Calc Android app. This app is free to use, with an optional Pro subscription. This page explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and your choices. If you use the app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

The short version

All of your saved birthdays and settings are stored on your device only — nothing is uploaded to a server we operate. Contacts and Calendar are only ever accessed when you explicitly turn on a feature that needs them. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play; we never see your card details.

Information We Collect

• Saved entries — the name, date, category, color, mobile number, and photo of any birthday or anniversary you save, stored only in the app's local database on your device.
• Contacts (only if you use "Import from Contacts") — name, birthday/anniversary date, and photo, read at the moment you choose to import, for entries you select. Not accessed at any other time, and never sent off your device.
• Calendar (only if you enable "Sync to Phone Calendar") — the app reads your device's calendar list to choose where to write, then creates, updates, or deletes yearly recurring events for your saved birthdays in your own device's Calendar app. This only happens while the setting is on.
• Photos — a profile photo you pick from your device's gallery for a saved entry, stored locally with that entry.
• CSV / ICS files — files you choose to import are read only from the location you pick; exported files are handed to your device's own share sheet so you decide where they go.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active Pro subscription, so the app knows which features to unlock. Verified through Google Play Billing.
• Log & crash data — basic technical information (device model, OS version, app version, and crash stack traces) collected automatically through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics if the app encounters an error, to help us fix bugs.
• Advertising identifier — used by Google AdMob to serve and personalize ads (see Third-Party Services below). You can reset or limit this in your device's Android Settings at any time.

We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, browsing history, or any payment information — that last one is handled entirely by Google Play.

Android Permissions Explained

Permission	Why the app needs it
Contacts (read)	Only used when you tap "Import from Contacts", to read birthdays/names/photos you choose to import.
Calendar (read & write)	Only used if you turn on Calendar Sync, to add/update/remove your saved birthdays in your phone's Calendar app.
Notifications	To show birthday reminder notifications.
Schedule exact alarms	So reminders arrive at the exact time you set, rather than being delayed by the system.
Receive boot completed	To re-arm your reminders after you restart your phone.
Ignore battery optimizations (optional)	Lets you optionally exempt the app from battery restrictions so reminders stay reliable — entirely your choice, requested only if you tap the in-app prompt.
Internet & network state	Required for ads, Google Play Billing, and Firebase services to function.
Vibrate	For notification vibration.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google AdMob — serves banner, interstitial, app-open, rewarded, and native ads. May use your advertising ID to personalize ads.
• Google Analytics for Firebase — basic, anonymized usage analytics.
• Firebase Crashlytics — automatic crash reporting to help us fix bugs.
• Firebase Realtime Database — used only to check for optional in-app update notices.
• Google Play Billing — processes Pro subscription purchases. We never receive your payment details.
• Google Play Services — powers in-app review and in-app update prompts.

Subscriptions & Payments

The app offers an optional yearly Pro subscription that removes ads and unlocks unlimited saves, export, and custom colors. All purchases, renewals, and cancellations are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your card or billing information. Manage or cancel your subscription any time from the Google Play Store app.

Data Retention

Your saved entries and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. We do not retain a copy anywhere else. Crash/analytics data collected by Firebase follows Google's own retention policies (see the links above).

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable law — including GDPR (EU/EEA/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), or the DPDP Act (India) — to access, correct, or request deletion of information associated with you. Since almost all app data lives only on your own device, the simplest way to exercise these rights is to delete entries in-app or uninstall the app. For anything else, contact us at info@linksgroups.com.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
